Douglas, Michigan Waterfront…
here for area listings.
Douglas is located on the "Art Coast of Michigan," sharing the Kalamazoo River with Saugatuck, as it enters Lake Michigan. Being an easy day-trip from Grand Rapids or Chicago, Douglas has seen tremendous growth in the last few years.
This growth is quickly evidenced by its outstanding restaurants, B&Bs, hotels, and vibrant, eclectic shopping destinations. Whether you are looking for hand-crafted furnishings, original art in varied mediums, or a scrumptious meal, Douglas will not disappoint.
In Douglas, you can watch the morning sun rise slowly over the inland river wetlands from Wade's Bayou Park, or glimpse a breathtaking sunset from Douglas beach. In-between, you will see the Keewatin, a stately Great Lakes passenger ship, originally launched in 1907, at it's permanent home in Lake Kalamazoo. Or, you could cheer the Douglas Dutchers old time base ball team at Beery Field, after a relaxing kayak cruise on the Kalamazoo River, or on one of its many serene backwater locations.
